Rafael Drinks, Pedro Thinks #01: King Tuts Wah Wah Hut

Student Tours Scotland tours Glasgow's Bars

Welcome to an all-new, all-different regular blog for 2014. In this blog, Student Tours Scotland tours Glasgow's bar scene with Rafael and Pedro - two regulars from Brazil. It's really simple: Rafael drinks and Pedro thinks about the bar.

Our first stop this week was the famous King Tuts Wah Wah Hut on St. Vincent Street in the Blythswood Hill area of Glasgow City Centre. King Tuts is a bar that doesn't compare to any others. It's simply awesome. You approach this tiny place, nestled under some offices and across from the Alexander Thomson church and suddenly you're taken aback by the huge mural on the wall. Inside you're greeted with a cosy wee bar area with a pool table and fantastic staff.

The drinks range here is amazing. We took some Single Malt Jura Origin Whisky as our drink of choice and got all soppy thinking of the good times this past year in Glasgow.

King Tuts is famous more however, for the secret that lies upstairs - a small gig venue. Many famous acts have honed their skills on the stage in King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow. Student Tours Scotland's awesome ginger guide, Gary has even seen his fair share of bands grace the stage there. If you only go to one venue in Glasgow, go here. Grab a whisky and take away some of the best music memories of your life.
